Valter`s Restaurant is the first in Latvia which boasts a contemporary Latvian cuisine based only on Latvian rural products such as milk, vegetables, meat, fish, fruit and game coming from local farms.The restaurant`s interior with Latvian landscapes recalls the simple but elegant country manor where every visitor can feel not as a customer but a long-awaited visitor. The restaurant concise menu is as changable as nature itself. One of the founders of our Latvian kitchen – chef Valters Zirdziņš creates new original recipes as soon as farmers offer new products and a new hunting and fishing season starts
The restaurant`s kitchen reflects the Latvian countryside – food is prepared from fresh ingredients which are currently available on the market and is presented not only on plates but also on Latvian wood, ceramic, stone and other natural materials.The chef tends to joke that the only non-native products here are salt, pepper and coffee. Meal in a restaurant is complemented by specially selected Latvian wine and strong drink selection including “samogon”-home produced vodka. But for many visitors “point on i” will be on-site preparation home made ice-cream or sorbet.
